pencils write a line of words
and in their time and space wear down
and just like us turn dull from overwork
but unlike us dive headfirst into sharpeners
grind back to life their points of view renewed
then dance on teeter-totter tables
in a coffee house of caffeine rings
with paper bridal white,
a waltz of words reveals lost truths,
confessions left unspoken.
