Welcome to Lightwood, Summer 2026, Issue #26

Hello and welcome to Lightwood, Summer 2026 Issue #26. (And for many of our visitors, happy Winter.)

We press on through another year of uncertainty. Is this now our normal way of living or will there be a different path that we choose? One way is to keep our positive energy flowing out into the world: that unstoppable force that brings all people together through our words, art, craft and music. We have to continue to share our work with as many people as possible— not just those who are on our same wavelength but those we don’t know, those we might be wary of connecting with, those we never cross paths with. We may be surprised that there is a door that can open between us. Perhaps they have their own creativity (an art, a craft, a tradition: culinary, spiritual or geographic) that they never thought of sharing until they are asked about it.

Perhaps the simple question to another is: “What do you like to do that’s fulfilling?” This could open up a lifelong conversation.

I remember talking to someone about making wooden boxes. I leaned about this subject, more interesting and layered than I thought it would be. And I also learned about the person. Perhaps we just need to give another person a few minutes to tell us who they really are and what makes them feel alive.

As always, stay well and keep your creativity a part of your daily life.
