The Fountain of Youth on You Tube/ poem by Bruce Weber

Today I discovered the fountain of youth on You Tube
I turned on my iPad and searched for the appropriate video
I tuned into a silver haired gent in a Merlin hat
Who welcomed me to an endless future of perfect skin
And limitless walks on unwavy lines.

I stood amazed at the forward-looking gaze of the universe
The string of iridescent pearls of perfect sunshine
Extending into infinity
And watched as my body and soul
Returned to the lovely shape of its young bones.

My blood ran warm as an afternoon cup of tea
At a crumpet shop in the Lake District
Scuffling for the right word
In a poem written in the spirit
Of high passion and pure faith.

The truth bending like a bridge over high water
The tumult of the past a distant parade of thumping drums
As we walked forward in perfect step with the light of the sun
The temper of the day resounding like a sweet kiss
From the pen of Shelley on a temporary hiatus from unholy wars.
