Welcome to Lightwood/ Summer 2025, Issue #22

Hello, and welcome to Lightwood, the summer 2025 issue #22. (Or the winter issue to our friends south of the equator.)

For many—as the song says: “Summer’s here and the time is right for dancin’ in the streets!”

Our hope is that there can be joyous dancing, bringing together community and not the violence that has been generated on our streets over these last years. 

Our hope is for peace throughout the world, and it is within our power to have our compassion open up to others, including those we may disagree with. There are many layers of “different”, and it’s worth remembering that you, and me, and everyone are different from everyone else, but the need to connect may be the link we want and long for.  Can we find that quiet coffee shop to sit, order pie and talk about where we are, what brought us here and where we can go together? Maybe most of us are seeking this kind of deeper connection. It will be worth the risk for us to try.
